I agree with you, , in that I am happy too that Maysa got the correction she got from wearing her 2 DOC bands. I still do not believe that her head would look as good as it does now had she not been in treatment for so long. Her head was severely flat and asymmetrical too and repositioning back then did not work for us.

The bands redirected her growth in the right direction. Then add to that the fact that she no longer sleeps right on her back her head has been growing and improving on its own. While I wanted to share with others what is happening to Maysa now, I am still a firm believer in that the right band/helmet can successfully reshape babies head.

If I were to do it all over again, I would go straight for helmet/band treatment again (after choosing the best of the best) and avoid the long journey we've had to go through.

Not to spoil people's hopes, but I haven't seen this with my daugther. She graduated at 10 mo, and my feeling is her head is the same at 3.5 yrs. I would love to say that she's improved, but I don't think so. It does make me so happy that I did band her while I could - since I know she wouldn't have "rounded out on her own". I guess every kid is different.-christinesydney, 3.5 yrs, starband grad>> For those of you who wonder if the head keeps moving in the right direction after the band is off, I believe it does. Maysa has been out of her band almost three months and I am seeing her head round out even more. Here is what I am seeing:> http://mymaysa. wordpress. com/2009/ 08/18/flat- to-square- to-round- wow/> > I am so excited for her!> > Leila,> Maysa, 19 mo, DOC band Grad 5.26.09> www.mymaysa. wordpress. com>
