Yep, seems we have been here before, huh? :-) And, Tracey - thank you so much for your detailed explanation of your surgery experience, as I am going in in less than a month and it helped me get prepared! Guest guest
Hi Carole! You're very welcome. Yes, unfortunately, we've been down this road too many times before on too many lists. Sigh... But, I'm so glad my post was helpful to you! Those updates were always great for me. I know everyone's experiences will be different but I felt so much more prepared having heard so many updates before I went in. Hugs! Guest guest
Hi Judie! I'm sorry to say we don't have a spare bedroom. Our little house is only 880 square feet and barely fits the two of us and our computers. Bundle up girl and keep the fire stoked! Hopefully it won't stay that cold for too long. That's true, I like not having to take care of the pool. I actually don't mind the temperatures in June. It's July and August that become unbearable for the very reason you mentioned, HUMIDITY! I've spent lots of time in the desert and was able to take temperatures up to 110 without wilting because it was so dry. But, 98 degrees and humid just makes me want to die! And I know there are New Yorkers out there who are going to tell me I know nothing about humidity but believe me, we get humidity in the 90 to 100% range in July and August and sometimes into September. This is East County and the weather's different from the main part of San Diego. It can also get below freezing overnight here sometimes in the winter. I'm sure I'll be better equipped for the heat next summer though, since I won't have so much extra padding. :-) Try to stay warm Judie! I'll be sending warm thoughts your way! Guest guest
Hi Tracey, Flaxseed oil has anti-inflammatory properties. It contains DHA which is beneficial to many issues not just cf. In South Australia there has been a trial on its use for arthritis. I have found that Ainslie 11 wcf tends to have a nonproductive cough throughout the winter months, once I started her on flaxseed oil the coughs disappeared. I checked with a dietician before starting her on flaxseed capsules, but I won't take her off them now. I also started Ainslie on a Mg supplement earlier this year and to date 6 months later she has not had to go on to her stronger antibiotic. Terri mum to Ainslie 11 wcf and Connor 7 no cf
