Another seed question:

BTVC says seeds are permissable after 3 months of " no symptoms, " so why are seed

flours

not permitted at that time? Do they clog up systems too much before healing?

From Elaine:

Because the quantity of the flour way surpasses the few seeds that I had in mind

when I

said " seeds are permissable after 3 months of no symptoms. " I meant a sprinkling

of

sesame, caraway, etc., not using the seeds as flour. I was also afraid of all

the fiber with

which these seeds are coated. Don't forget we are using blanched almonds without

the

outer fiber coat.

Pecanbread said:

Sesame seeds, like other edible seeds, are illegal at the beginning of the

diet but may be added later with caution after a few months of initial

success. You can grind your own or purchase pure sesame butter (tahini) to

make your own tahini preparations.

Hi Carol,

I was more concerned about whether I need to be concerned about starches (to

keep them from sticking?) in the store bought pumpkin seeds. I know roasted

peanuts are okay. Would pumpkin seeds be the same? Like I said the ingredients

say " pumpkin seeds, salt " .

Thanks so much

> Homemade-roasted pumpkin seeds are legal, right?>> thanks!>Yes, but they're fairly advanced.I just "made" some squash seeds last night: used seeds from the acorn squash we had for supper, put some olive oil on a cookie pan, laid down the seeds and added some sea salt, then broiled them (watching them carefully so they wouldn't burn). They were dynamite; I let them get slightly brown and they actually tasted remarkably like popcorn. Boy did that satisfy a fix I've had for a long time! :-)n-- Now available.
