Guest guest
Which state? Each state in the U.S. has its own medicaid program with its own rules. Also, I think that all of the states have a backup program for medically fragile children, with higher income guidelines than medicaid, and which will pick up insurance copays, deductibles, etc., as long as you go to doctors who participate in the program (and who have assistants who can file the paperwork right!) ~ > we r in the usa > val
Guest guest
Val, You can set up a " meet the doc " appointment to see if you are comfortable with the Medicaid doc. if you are not you should be able to pick your own doc through medicaid. They should provide a list of doctors who take their insurance. If they do not have a list, you can call offices of docs in the area and ask if they take patients on medicaid. As for the GI doc, if they have one at CF clinic, I wouldn't think you need to see one outside of there. Call Cf clinic and ask the nurse practitioner what s/he thinks. We do not usually see any GI doc, not even at CF clinic. We only saw her once, though I know that the CF doc has consulted her about 's reflux issues. Good luck, Mom of , 5 with CF and 10 weeks along PS My brigadeiro came out too runny, I'll have to try again! insurance doubt Hi everybody!!! First of all I am so upset that my english brain is not working very well...please understand all the silly mistakes I will make in this post... well....last week we got a bill from torin's ped for 206 dollars..I was surprised coz the insurance have been paying 100% of our bills... my husband said thet it is coz maybe we reached our well patience visit limit, or something like that...the problem is thet we were not counting on this bill...and money is short here...bla bla bla...but that is not the reason of this post...we have madicaid, but his ped don't get it....we are really satisfied w/ his doc...but maybe we don't have any choice but go to the primary doctor of the madicaid...we never went to this doctor...we just got a letter with his name from medicaid...My first question, does madicaid pay 100% of this primary doctor visit?? Second question, is it necessary a GI doctor when they have one at the CF Clinic? I mean, torin has a GI doctor( don't accept medicaid either) who visit him at the NICU and we have been seen him after then...but the last 2 appointments he was not there and another doc saw torin....I really don't think this doctor makes any difference to anything and she used to work at the CF clinic before. I am thinking about cancel the visit to the GI doctor ..what do u think??? Should have been a law to avoid new bills at christmas time.... Does anyone know anything about " Children's medical service " from the health department?? love val mum to torin 11 months old w/ CF torin's pictures at http://groups.msn.com/toringastao ------------------------------------------- The opinions and information exchanged on this list should IN NO WAY be construed as medical advice.
