Guest guest
, Wouldn't it be nice if we all had crystal balls! Raising a child whether or not they have a handicap or an illness or just plain healthy is a trial & error prospective. No matter what, there will always be things you wished you could or should have done different. We try to live each day to the fullest. We let our kids, including the one with CF, do and try anything they wanted to unless it would put their life in danger. (ie:skydiving, etc.) There are no limitations, only those they put on themselves. Not all times will be good because that is life. Just let them be kids and all will be good. CF is only a small stumbling block. We found out our daughter had CF when she was s age. She is now 18years old and yesterday was her last day of High School and she will start college classes January 12th. It is hard to see what lies ahead when they are so little, but looking back at my daughters years, it has flown by and besides the medicines and the treatments her life was pretty normal.(whatever normal is). Good Luck with your little ones. I am sure they will have a wonderful life given the fact that you are concerned. Tina W., mother of 26, nocf & , 18, wcf to all parents with older children with cf or with cf themselves Hi all Im curious about life growing up with cystic fibrosis and how you dealt with. My concern is that When I grow older as a parent and grows up. I don't want to look back and say I wish I had done things different, like worrying about every little thing, about resticting activities that may seem good at the time but then you look back and say wow did I really say No to that. I want to grow up and say I lived a good life,I want him to remember the good times. Well I'm rambling anyway I would love to hear from all of you and your experiences growing up or your children growing up and how you dealt with life and its everyday issues. Thanks.... , mommy of 5 years old w/cf/adhd and 2 years old no cf ------------------------------------------- The opinions and information exchanged on this list should IN NO WAY be construed as medical advice.
