Guest guest
Actually, I was talking about the intro diet. The list of intro foods on pecan bread is slightly different than in BTVC. So, I was wondering if that was because asd children seem to need to start with a more limited intro diet than nt people. I haven't asked my husband to check the book again, but I know that Elaine allowed dccc on intro, and Dr. Haas allowed bananas. So, I'm wondering what would be the correct food list for intro. Guest guest
I think dairy is the main thing that is different from the ASD intro and the intro in the book. If an individual tolerates dairy already, there is no reason to pull out DCCC if you're re-doing intro. Dairy was only left off entirely because most families starting SCD are coming from a CF diet. The part about Dr. Haas allowing ripe bananas on his version of the intro diet is actually quite new to me..... only just recently learned that was true from Mimi. It was nice to know. I wonder why Elaine didn't included them. Patti Re: Re: Intro diet clarification Actually, I was talking about the intro diet. Guest guest
I do know identitical autistic twins using the SCD. They are 5 yrs. old and doing much better. One of them had extremely poor eyesite with one crossed eye and now he barely ever has to wear glasses and his eye is no longer crossed. Their mom is a psychologist. The other one was really bad off GI wise, language etc. He is speaking some words and his D is not an everyday thing anymore either. His family is busy and cannot post but, they use to be Gf/Cf and his mom gave me a big hug a few days ago to say thank you for lending her my BTVC. They do not eat or like the same foods. I have cooked for them on occassion to help mom with ideas and they both have a great appetite. Jenn & Kali Re: Intro diet clarification > > > > > I have the book.
