Guest guest
I have severe sleep apnea and if you do also, you will definitely have a better chance of getting insurance approval for weight loss surgery. For your sake though, I hope you do not. Please research all the weight loss surgery possibilities and also, if you do have sleep apnea, make sure you get an oxygen machine right away. It will make you feel a lot better. If you have any questions on sleep apnea, let me know, I'll be glad to answer them. Kaufmann
Guest guest
Hi Diane, I have sleep apnea and if you have it and start to use a c-pap machine you will feel a lot better. From what I understand after this surgery and weight loss it almost always cures sleep apnea and believe me I will worship the day I can shed the sleep mask and machine at night, but until then it does help. I had a sleep study done and it showed I have moderate to severe apnea attacks when I sleep. I was so tired all the time and was not sleeping well at night waking several times a night soak and wet with sweat, so much so I would have to sometimes even change the sheets at night. Since using the cpap machine I have not had those kinds of episodes. And yes it may help get the approval from your insurance if it is proven you have sleep apnea. Guest guest
Hi Diane, I am Betty Neal from Browns Summit, North Carolina. Yes I have had the sleep test for sleep apna. I have had it twice. The first time it was to see why I did sleep but about an hour at a time, sometimes not that long; then I was awaken. During the day I would fall asleep any where, even when I was talking to someone. I thought my kids, friends, and family was telling me a story when they said I was doing this. Until my daughter took a picture of me talking to them and folding up cloths. this shocked me when I saw that picture and pictures do not lie. So the doctor had me to do this sleep test in the hospital one night. The result was that I was awaken 53 times during the night, and I never dreamed; So the doctor said I never whent into a sound sleep and when I was snoring I stopped breathing many times, This is why I felt so tired and sleepy during the day. Any way the second test was with a " C-PAP " on, and I did sleep a little better, and had several dreams that night. This time I was awaken 22 times which was a lot better. The C-PAP machine forces air in side your mouth throught your nose, which helps you too breath better during sleeping. The air is adjusted to each persons need. I have been using on now since the last of August, 2000. I still haven't gotten completly use to it. But I really works. Diane I am not on the internet very much, but I too am still trying to qualify for Dr. Rutledge mini-gastric bypass surgery. I really need it badly. Plus this surgery should help this sleep apna. I hope I have helped you a little with the sleep test. Betty Neal from Browns Summit, North Carolina I have trouble with my e-mail address: b7449y@... so if it doesn't all come out just say betty from browns summit. I will know it is me. there are several other betters in the egroup. Please have a great day. Sleep study > Hi everyone, I just had a sleep study done on Sunday. Guest guest
I just had one, it was pretty freaky but I did manage to sleep even with a million wires attached to my head. They are attached to a small device so you are able to go to the bathroom if needed. I am not sure how my results turned out as I have to see my doctor to get the report. They didn't put the c-pap on me so I guess I didn't have apnea. I just snore. love, M
