Guest guest
<<Any effects to report or is it too soon?>> Carol, I'm still holding my breath, because I can't quite believe it.... but we are seeing very dramatic progress with potty training, which came about two weeks after starting the K. Who knows? All I know is that I have a girl who is consistantly using the potty at school and at home.... and this is one VERY delayed little girl who showed zero progress toward that goal until very suddenly, about three weeks ago. We ARE also seeing the definite signs of her body flushing out oxalic acid, all of which said to expect, so I suppose this is verification that Katera did indeed have some oxylate crystals to get rid of and calcium to put back where it belongs. suggested we try the K protocol based on our history during Katera's previous 18 month stint on SCD... when her seizures unexplainably got worse after some months on strict SCD. It's possible, according to , that the SCD yogurt probiotics were causing her to start dissolving the crystals..... but without the K levels (and possible need for some extra D as well) she had unmanaged calcium floating around in her brain, wreaking havoc. Guest guest
Patti--I bought a K2 supplement made by Carlson that appears to be SCD legal: Each capsule contains 5 mg. K2 (as menatetrenone), cellulose, magnesium stearate, silica, vegetable stearin, gelatin capsule. Natural color. Preservative-free. Milk-free. Wheat-free. Yeast-free. Salt-free. Sugar-free. Starch-free. Corn-free. Actually, I hadn't noticed the " natural color " until now. And now that I look at it, I'm not sure about the " vegetable stearin. " What do you think? Thanks, --- Patti wrote: > > This high-quality liquid K2 is the only SCD legal > one I could find. Guest guest
I have to admit, I would just avoid this. I have no way to know what the " natural color " consists of. I think the vegetable stearin is okay.... but it honestly is not included on the " legal/illegal " supplement additive list as being either legal or not. I am just guessing.... and I think one should always avoid something if there is any doubt. I just have to admit, I don't exactly know what that is. The other reason I went with the liquid K2 from Thorne is that I needed to start Katera on a very low dose (1 mg, TID).... and work up. With the liquid, one drop equals 1 mg. That makes it very easy for me to adjust her dose, plus I am taking it, too..... and I can be taking a different dose and not be fooling around with opening capsules or whatever.
