Guest guest
I need some help with meals. I have two kids and myself on SCD and at different stages of healing. My target child is very limited. He can't have eggs, nuts, honey, dairy, tomatoes, and most fruits. Its makes it very hard to come up with meals. I am scared to start again but I know its the next step. My fear comes from feeling so limited . His reactions aren't things we can just work through. His teacher who doesn't understands the diet is very supportive. Over the last two weeks he has had a birthday and a harvest party. He didn't have things that are not scd but I dit let him have muffins and baked goods. HIs teacher said he can either be on his diet or I can home school him. That he needs this and he is like night and day.when he is on this diet and not. I have read the book many times but I guess Iam a slow learner. Thanks

What kind of foods was he eating before the muffins and baked goods? When you write he can't have certain foods (eggs, nuts...) do you mean he is allergic to them or doesn't tolerate them? If you restart with the intro diet you may be able to find some foods he does tolerate then we could put together some meal ideas. Does he have any active bowel symptoms now? Other symptoms? Are you using yogurt/nut yogurt or probiotics? Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 22yrs mom of and > My fear comes > from feeling so limited . His reactions aren't things we can just work > through. Guest guest
Hi sheila We are all starting over. MY son was eating meets with vegetables cooked inside them, plain meats and green beens, bannans, and raw pears (big no no I have learned) My daughter were eating same but more fruit. He is allergic to penuts I know not a nut. But Things made with nuts ,eggs, honey dairy Tomato, and apples to name a fer case bad behavier systems. Uncontroleble anger And more. He is extreamly sensitive to salcylates. so much so that he cant even get things on his skin whithout haveing his ears turn brite red and him having a reactin within minets. I know people have different views on how to handle salicylates and that the ones that are in food help us detox an shouldn,t worry about it. Well they don' have a child that reacts like mine. Prior to SCDwe were on the fiengold program that has you gets all things out of your hause that has die or artifical flavors in it. He is so sensitive that things like playdough or shampoo with milk or wheet in it are a prodlem. It helps a lot but it is not geared to heal the gut. The reactions last about 4 days so if he gets incontact with the wrong food or soap twice a week he is a mess the whole time. He does take probitics were uesing goat yourget, afp-peptizyde enzyme, no-fenol ezyme and scdophilus. He also was on COL. but I have taken evertthing out but the scdophilus. Just to see were we are. Whats hard is my daughter can eat other things and my son wants to but cant. Thats part of were my problem got so bad. Even with knowing evertthing I know about my son I started sceond gessing my self on the foods high in salicylates and letting him have things I knew better. We have now all starter over but school startes tomorrow and I don't kwon what to send in my doughters lunch. They eat on there recess brakes and I havent got a clue. My son I wall just send hambuger with cooked in vegetables or chickew but he has all ready ben eating that fot so long I don't know how long he will be good and not be tempted to eat other things. Bannas are another food he wants mass amounts .He hasn' t had them for 3 days and I am scared to give to him. He has a big yeast issue. Any Ideas on food would be great. Thanks Sheila Trenholm wrote: Hi , > I need some help with meals. I have two kids and myself on SCD and at > different stages of healing. My target child is very limited.
