When you start the diet we recoomend that you start with the intro

diet. This should be done for 2-5 days (5 days is the maximum). 4-5

days for those with diarrhea and 2-3 for everything else. The intro

diet helps get a head start on clearing out the harmful microbes out of

the body by starving them while feeding the body with easy to digest

foods. The dairy free intro can be found at:

http://pecanbread.com/foodprep.html#intro along with meal ideas to be

served on the intro

If doing the original intro including dairy see:

http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/beginners_guide/beginners.htm

After the intro foods should be added gradually to see how they are

tolerated. Some menu ideas are at:

Becky,

We don't have any menu plans written up, but there are some great kid food ideas

on the website: www.pecanbread.com

There are ideas for the Intro Diet for children with autism... in the section

marked " Food Preparation " .... then click on ASD Intro. Then, look in the

" recipes " section for more kid-friendly ideas.

new mom starting SCD

I recently found out about SCD and am interested in implementing it

with my 3 year old son who has mild autistic traits. The information

on the research sites is overwhelming. I need something simple to

start off with, like a 7 day diet. With breakfast, lunch and dinner

ideas. Something that a child who currently only eats carbohydrates

and fruit will adjust to easily. I will be getting the Breaking the

Vicious Cycle book today of which I know has recipes, however, I

thought others must have been in my situation and may be able to offer

suggestions for a beginner.

Thanks!!!

Becky
