Dear Debbie, I just had my surgery on Aug 30, and I stayed until the

next tuesday to have my staples out, and to be near the Dr. in case

of complications. It is really foolish not to stay, because it very

well could mean the difference of living or dying should anything

happen. The first week is when you are most at risk of serious

complications. It gets a little boring at the hotel, but I did get to

do some reading, visit the museam of natural history in Durham that

has a wonderful butterfly house. There is also great shopping around

the area, and beautiful things to see just driving around the

triangle area. Take Dr Rutledge's advice and stay in Durham until you

see him at the next clinic. Congratulations on finding this wonderful

surgery and I hope all goes well with you.

Regards

Marjory

Hi All,

I have been reading your e-mails for 3 days now and have laughed and cried

with you. I'm Kathy, I'm 348lbs and 5'3 " . I have completed the Patient

Information Form and received my insurance letter from Dr. R. Today, I'm

going to my regular Dr. today and getting her referral letter (which I need

for my ins co). I'm scared, excited, worried, jubilant, anxious, and in

general exhausted!!!! My life if pretty hectic with going to school full

time, working full time and being a " completely " single mom of a 4 yr old

wonderful little girl (who has made my life worth living, but has also

brought home the fact that she deserves a mom who can take her horseback

riding (this is what she wants to do so bad she can't stand it)), so the

stress of this life-changing decision is wearing a little on my nerves. But,

I will survive (if you were her you would hear me singing--I do that a lot).

Anyway, I just wanted you all to know I was here and am enjoying the

camaraderie you all seem to share.

Oh, one more thing--Do any of you have OSF HealthPlans?

Looking forward to hearing from all who wish to respond!!!

Kathy (Pekin, Illinois--Peoria Area)

know exactly how you feel about a whole bunch of stuff?

I'm only a few hours away from you.

I live in northwestern Indiana, east of you just a bit.

Good luck with the struggle.Hope you dance soon.
