Thank you, Patti. I had pulled the almond flour baked goods and they both

seemed to be doing better. I read what you wrote to another mom about food

sensitivity tests showing sensitivities due to a leaky gut and as that healed

the sensitivities clear up. Well, they showed sensitive to eggs, among other

things. But I decided if I pulled the almond flour baked goods, I needed to add

eggs back in. And they have done fine with the eggs (to my knowledge). A

little over a week ago I ran out of acidophilus and it took me some time to get

more ordered, but they did arrive today. I was just wondering if all of 's

cravings and refusal to eat foods I offered him except " sweets " or almond flour

baked goods was due to yeast trying to take over. So, the acidophilus capsules

are back in the picture and we will see if that helps.

What is frustrating to me is that he never ate one bite of food until 4:30

this afternoon when I offered the squash buttons and the pureed pear, zuchinni,

chicken, honey, cinnamon, and coconut oil. He ate that all very well. (was

probably starved) But if I had offered the sneaky veggie pancakes again, he

would have thrown them bite for bite to the floor. There is no forcing this

child to eat and I know that would only cause more problems, so I am doing my

VERY best to be firm but patient. He is having some increased sensory issues

the past week, also, and I can't help but feel it is diet related. He used to

love to ride the carousal at the mall, but the last two times we put the boys on

the horses, he acted terrified. Today, I was crinkling some plastic bags to

separate them and he acted like it bothered him.

Anyway, I have gone on long enough. I wonder sometimes about letting him

" fast " if that is what he chooses to do and only offer what I feel they need. I

am thinking about going back to the starter diet and may have two protestors.

Thanks for listening.

Dana,

I think the baked goods with the almond flour could definitely be a problem.

Of course, ANY time you see a kids suddenly limiting himself to a couple of

foods, and obsessing on those..... you know SOMEthing is off balance.

I would pull the almond flour.... and maybe just use nut butters for baking.

But, if he is going to just want a WHOLE BUNCH of any baked good.... and is

wanting nothing else but sweet stuff, I do suspect you've got a problem. I'm

just not exactly sure what.

If all of this started after you ran out of probiotics.... then I guess I'd

suggest yes, you need to start them back up ASAP, though it is puzzling because

he's getting the yogurt.

I know this may be tough... but I think you have to be the one making the food

choices here. You know that nothing but fruit and baked goods is not okay.... so

those need to be out of the picture, except in what quantity you give him.

You're the mom... you get to say what's for lunch. I guess I'd rather see him

not eat at all for a day.... (sort of " fasting " ??).... than getting to overeat

sweet stuff and refuse the veggies and protein.

This is one tough scenario, though.... since you have two to contend with.

Let's try to puzzle this out....... keep the info coming...

Two year old starting to refuse what used to be favorite

SCD legal foods

I have a two year old who is suddenly deciding he does not like SCD legal foods

that were once his favorites. He refuses to eat them now and will spend the

entire time throwing food to the floor. He used to like chicken tots, sneaky

veggie pancakes, and other recipes from pecanbread.com. Now, all he wants are

bananas (which he does not digest well and his behavior deteriorates when he

eats too many), goat yogurt, and almond muffins/pancakes (which I feel he also

does not digest well). He would also eat fruit all day long if I let him. I do

not know what to do.

He does not understand nor care about cute characters and does not understand

" if you eat a bite of this, then you can have a bite of that. "

Right now I am still able to mix some foods like spinach or zuchinni with pear a

little chicken and coconut oil and puree with cinnamon and honey and he will

eat. But if I offer this all day every day, he will probably begin to refuse it

as well. I am concerned. How am I going to get him to heal if he refuses to eat

the best foods for him to heal?

Thanks, Dana
