Re: tobramycin/ Relatively, but irreversible kidney toxification is a risk, along with loss of hearing and/or sense of balance that anyone receiving any of this classification of drugs risks. It is common enough that that is why they usually do a peak and trough on the level to stabilise it and it is one of those medications reserved only for very serious infections--in cystic fibrosis and related and other lung diseases, and for burn patients. The same is true of the entire group of these medica tions, such as gentamicin. I did find several web sites but decided they would weigh a ton and drop in the Pacific en route.
