Hi. I wanted to tell you that I also suffered daily BEFORE MGB with

sinus problems. I have had only two mild headaches since. WOW!...what

an improvement. Anyway, I don't know about medications pre-op, but I

can tell you that I have been using Vicks Vapor rub around my nose

when I feel that my sinuses are getting stuffy, and it works great.

You might want to try it until you get hold of the Doctor to find out

about other things. I have been wondering if we could use some of the

nasal sprays, too. I will have to email the Doctor and ask. I want to

find out well BEFORE I get a sinus headache. I used Nasalcrom before

surgery and it worked really well to prevent sinus problems. I also

have an herbal mixture that works great, but I have not used any

since I have had surgery. Anyway, I hope that you feel better soon

and good luck with your surgery. It's the best thing that I have ever

done for my health.

Hi Vicki,

I am pre-op, scheduled for Sept 27. I too have been having terrible sinus

headaches. I called Barbara and she said I could continue my Allegra to help,

just none of the things listed, aspirin, etc. My big worry now is that I have just

over a week to go and I am afraid I am getting a cold (possibly just

sinus)either way I can't do this now. Can anybody help, what can I do? I will

die if something happens to stop this surgery now. Is there anyhting I can take

to ward off any cold virus that wants to land on me ?

Good Luck Vickie

Hello! I am new to this and would like to know if someone can help

me find a doctor that does the MiniGastricBypass in the Georgia

area. Also, I have spinal stenosis and was told I need to lose

weight to help with the pain since it is not bad enough to have

surgery to repair. The pain is aweful! I need to lose a good 150

lbs. Please respond!

Thanks,

Carol

Hey Carol,

I'm in need of about a 150 lb. weight loss also, I'll settle for 100 lbs. tho.

I'm just getting my package ready to send in. I'm waiting on my pap smear

results. I'm a self-pay, because I can't wait a couple of years to fight my

insurance.

I have some reall good friends tho. who are helping me pay for this.

Good, luck to you, start with the web site where it says start here.. 12 steps.

Hi Carol: Dr. Rutledge is the only doc in the world who does this surgery that

I am aware of. It is his own adaptation of a Bilroth II surgical technique.

There is a Dr. Champion in Atlanta who does laparascopic RNY..he has a site on

the web...but it is not the MGB. If you really study the surgeries and like

many of us, decide that the way to go is with Dr. Rutledge, you will find all

the information you need on the close.net site and through " chatting " with

others who will be traveling to Durham for the surgery.

Best wishes. You're in a good place. We're all here and willing to help in any

way we can.

Carol,

My name is and I live in Cumming, GA (about 45 miles north of

Atlanta). I had the MGB on 10/04/00 and am feeling great - 6 days

postop - getting my staples out today. Feel free to e.mail with any

questions. Also, get on the MGB-Georgia list on egroups so all us

Georgia people can talk.
