Here is the way to convince relatives on the scientific merit of

SCD.

The American Medical Association is the official organization for

doctors in the USA. It publishes a prestigious journal for medical

research:the Journal of the American Medical Association. An article

was published in that journal by Dr Henry Lin,faculty member at USC.

That article vindicates Elaine and SCD!! It explains the following

points:

* Gut microrganisms are the cause of IBS.

*Starches that were not well digested produce the gut microrganisms.

*Gut microrganisms emit endotoxins that disturb the brain.

The writing is very hard to understand. My husband got discouraged

when he started reading it,but I encouraged him to continue and he

was able to get important points from it. The article convinced him

that Elaine's work is scientific.

I don't know if it is appropriate to respond to this post...

I don't want to discourage anyone in using this information to win

over the support of family members...as their support is wonderful as

SCD is not easy at times.

My family would not even read over the info. I presented to them when

we started the SCD...I just wanted them to understand why we were

doing the SCD so if other family members asked why we were feeding the

kids this way at least they could give them answers...My mom will not

even let me talk to her about the diet so I don't even bother.

It is a good thing I have a very supportive husband...he has food

issues like the kids...so that makes him very understanding.

When my family does better my husband and I will probably be the only

ones that know Elaine's work and the SCD has saved them.

Other family members will probably say " I told you they would out grow

the food allergies " ....

I'm okay with this....sometimes you can only count on yourself...and

all the wonderful SCD ers for support.

I hope this scientific info. etc. wins over the support for many

families using the SCD.
