Guest guest
Hi Becky, << How long is it OK to eat chicken nuggets, apple/pear/zucchni sauce and > cheese. >> You don't want to use only this variety indefinitely but for about two weeks (middle/end of November you started?) into the diet it's not too bad. You are still in a transition phase when the harmful microbes are dying off. He may be feeling uncomfortable from die off (lethargic etc..) and/or still be craving starches and illegal sugars. Epsom salt baths and /or some legal activated charcoal may help with this. To broaden variety you may be able to slowly introduce a tiny amount of other cooked pureed vegetables into the apple/pear/zucchini sauce. Or you could try making up a whole different sauce. Carrots and squash are pretty sweet tasting and would go very nicely with apples make a sauce. If his stools are pretty good you might want to try a little cinnamon in it for flavour. << G eats this every lunch and dinner ( the cheese may be for > snack) and he eats a banana for breakfast (maybe with cheese or apple > sauce). He's refused squash buttons, pancakes, yogurt and even our> popcicles. >> What about making a banana smoothie instead of a banana? You could try banana and a just a little yogurt if he finds it too tart. Then add water to make it thin enough to drink. Also for the yogurt some find it very tart and find that dripping the yogurt to remove the water and some lactic acid makes it tastier for children. There are instructions on dripping yogurt at http://www.pecanbread.com/recipes.html (Nut yogurt cream cheese) and at " SCD Yogurt " at http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/beginners_guide/beginners.htm << He EXAMINES everything and notices any minor difference. >> 1. How about instead of trying to disquise it as something he used to eat to call it something new. 2. Have him be involved in making something. " These are ingredients what will we make " 3. Some have found if they eat the food the child may try it. Making happy , this is yummy noises sometimes helps. << Anyway since the yeast is soooo sneaky, just wondered if they could > somehow mutate and start to live on what he is limiting himself to. >> Yeast and bacteria can mutate but what you may be seeing is the hardiest nasty yeast and bacteria are still hanging on and aren't starved out yet. Supplementing with legal probiotics and/or yogurt will help get rid of these. << Also how many bananas are safe in one day? >> 1-2 ripe bananas when you have a variety of foods. If it is all he will eat you may have to make do with whatever legal foods he'll eat. But, if you have yeast issues it may be best to try and keep the numbers as low as possible.
