Guest guest
Please follow the constipation protocol from Elaine's website: www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info You'll find it under " C " in the " Knowledge Base " . The " electrolyte drink " is also very helpful for constipation.... same section, under " E " . It is TOO SOON for raw foods.... no matter what. They are too difficult to digest at this point, and anything that can't be properly digested can end up feeding yeast. To keep yeast from opportunistically taking over the space once occupied by bacterial overgrowth, you need to be supplementing a legal l.acdiphilus. Kirkman Labs has one. Muffins made from nut flour will tend to help loosen the stool... but, he should start with a small amount. Maybe a half of a muffin. And I'd highly recommend the almond flour from Lucy's Kitchen Shop (link on pecanbread.com), as it is more finely ground, and it's blanched. Constipation is pretty common in the beginning. Patti stage 1 questions Hey there - My son is in stage one, been SCD for about 10 days. He never had diarrhea, and now he is constipated and not happy. Is there some fiber options for him here? Can we move up to some raw vegetables since diarrhea isn't a problem? We put him on this diet for yeast issues and I don't want to feed the yeast beast, but he is very uncomfortable. Thanks, Lori mom to , 11 asd, GFCF egg free, and now SCD

Guest guest
Sheila - He is eating grilled chicken and turkey, broiled roast beef, and grilled hamburger patties with zucchini, pear sauce, and cinnamon mixed in it. He eats cooked carrots, green beans, and pear sauce (grudgingly). He drinks water or watered down white grape juice. He also takes a few legal supplements like a mulit, vit. C, zinc, GABA, cod liver oil, and probiotic. He started this diet the day before Thanksgiving, and he has only had one BM since then, and it was in the first day or two. This is a little scary. Guest guest
Yeah, I'd agree that is scary. Personally, I think it is incredibly important to get those bowels moving and get those toxins out of there. He could have an impaction by now. You wrote that your son never had diarrhea, so why don't you move on to the next stage of the diet? I'm not an SCD expert, but we just stick with legal foods and take something out if it causes a problem. My son eats almost all of his fruits and vegetables raw (and always has except for a day or two of intro) and has no problem with anything except apples and raisins and too many nuts. I'm not saying everyone should do that, but obviously not having a bm for a couple of weeks is not healthy. I'm sorry you're having this trouble. You can find it at http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/ Go to the " Knowledge Base " and then to " Constipation " Please also read " Constipation continued " at http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/ under the " Knowledge Base " Keep us updated, so we can make other suggestions if needed.
