Guest guest
I take a prenatal multivitamin & 3 viactiv/day. I asked Dr. Anthone about the ADEK's at my 2 year postop visit. I was curious, now that he's past his 10 year mark for doing the DS, I asked him if he was going to start including the ADEK's for his patients. He said he's really not seeing a need at this point, that he is aware that other surgeon's perscribe them, but his prenatal and viactiv seem to be doing the job. Occasionally he also perscribes A & D to help w/calcium absorbtion if necessary. I never had a need for the pepcid. Some do, some don't I guess. I dont understand the B12. Is he a RNY surgeon? All the best.. heidi http://www.mywls.com
Guest guest
Can anyone suggest a good multi vitamin that is SCD legal? Also how do you know if you child needs supplements? We have an appointment with a DAN doctor on the 21st and we have done all pooh and urine tests and will go over the results then. However, we went to another DAN doctor NOV. 14th who suggested this diet, but ran no test because we already did them. I am assuming it is from those results we would know what supplements he would need..?? Until then I feel guilty about not giving him his vitamin, at least vitamin C (especially during this time of year.) Any suggestion?. Becky son, high funct. Guest guest
Becky, Kirkman Labs makes an scd legal multivitamin for children called Everyday Multivitamin. It is in capsule form, and we just open the capsule and mix the contents into his diluted juice. Otherwise, I wouldn't necessarily introduce any other supps without seeing the test results first. If his gut is damaged, he may not absorb the supps that you're giving him. I will say that our personal story was that we only gave probiotic, multivitamin, and fish oil until our dan doctor recommended toherwise.
