Guest guest
Hi, its me Sue M. I needed to respond to the medication and people with no insurance. I don't have any...I've walked out of the drug store because my doctor prescribed a medication that costs $85 a month. My meds are about $200. per month now. The way we get along with is not to go to the doctor, not get their meds. They prescibe the most expensive because of their kickbacks...I truly believe that. My pcp always prescibes the most expensive drugs... Back in the early 80's I had back surgery, when I had insurance, and the doctors prescribed a back board, give her a foot board, after 2 days, give her more drugs, she has insurance they'll just pay. Meanwhile the doctor wouldn't even touch my back cast. They truly milked the system.... I have no faith in doctors anymore. So I'll just ride it out....Sue M

I know several doctors (even in Beverly Hills!)who will try and find a lower price alternative. And although sometimes you can ride it out you can't always. The system in the US is basically fuelled by money, more so than in European countries so I am very aware of the difference, but I have to put a word in - some of the doctors are not venal. People in UK complain because they have to pay about $7.50 per prescription. They don't pay if they are under 16, over 60, or have chronic illness, e.g. diabetes, thyroid problems etc. People moan if they have to wait for appointments, they don't believe people have to wait over here!!LOL I hope eventually you find a decent doctor or some system by which you can get help with your meds! Its tough when you have to worry about money as well as being ill!! Take care ,love Liz __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Thanks for the good thoughts Liz. I'm just so tired of doctors. It takes you forever to break them in, if you find one that doesn't tell you its all in your head. I have gotten more wrong diagnosis' and advise and lectures, just got sick of it. I'll work this out...thanks for your concern...I'll move to England and be grateful. Love, Sue M

Love, Sue M Actually, Sue, I have not lived there for some time, and I am probably in " the grass is greener on the other side " mode. If I am honest, there are frustrations where ever you are, because you are dealing with HUMAN BEINGS! If I think back I have had my fair share of being given the wrong dx and told I was over anxious. The trouble is I was always quite ready to believe it!! Love Liz __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Sue, My name is Yolanda, and my mom was diagnosed with RP, at first we spent all our money in Doctors and medicine because we did not have insurance. We were very lucky that someone referred us to a Free clinic, my mom only had to pay a small donation and all her medications were free. I do not know what city you live in, but try to find out if there is anything like that in your home town. Re: Medications & doctors --- grandm4@... wrote:> Hi, its me Sue M.
