Guest guest
Is there any combination of apples or a type of apple that makes the best apple sauce? If my apple sauce does not turn out yummy the first time the kids will never try some again....picky! I am considering using a little pear...they can't tolerate any lemon juice, cranberries etc....so the type of apple probably is important as it will be just apples. thank Cathy

Guest guest
Cathy, Recently, I used a combination of fuji and galla, and it came out great. The orchard that we like to go to usually has a list of apple varieties and their best uses under their picking schedule. If you want to check them out it is www.skytoporchard.com I'd choose two or three varieties that are specificly for baking or sauce...nothing too tart like granny smith.
