Guest guest
Michele, I really have no knowledge or experience with thyroid issues and what options you have. It seems like you may be between a rock and a hard place if kelp is the only non-drug option and you also want to stay 100% legal on SCD. I think has quite a bit of knowledge about thyroid.... I know he mentioned something about " Lugols iodine " as a supplement on the Vitamin K list (which I know you're on, too). He has his own list, too.... you might want to go over there and ask him. They discuss a lot of other things beyond SCD. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/who_knows/ Patti Re: Kelp What is a person supposed to do for a thyroid issue? I don't want to take meds, SCD isn't going to cure it, & I can't ignore the problem. Very frustrating. Guest guest
Hi , I just got off all thyroid meds!! I did a detox for metals in my body and it has started functioning fine on its own again. My doctor said copper in the body interferes with thyroid hormone. I had mercury too. Just food for thought. -- [Norton AntiSpam] Re: Kelp What is a person supposed to do for a thyroid issue? I don't want to take meds, SCD isn't going to cure it, & I can't ignore the problem. Guest guest
Michele, One more thought. I took a supplement called " Iodine and Tyrosine " , am still taking it. It's from Thorne and is SCD legal. -- [Norton AntiSpam] Re: Re: Kelp Michele, I really have no knowledge or experience with thyroid issues and what options you have. Guest guest
Elaine has mentioned that after doing SCD,many people find that they need less thyroid meds. I agree that you should get 's help. Mimi > Michele, > > > I really have no knowledge or experience with thyroid issues and what > options you have. Guest guest
Yes it did help my thyroid. The doctor said it was part of what helped it heal. I also took extra of it when the weather got cold, as that effects the thyroid too. -------Original Message------- From: hugs_may99 Did this definitely help your thyroid? I have to check if it's okay for nursing moms though... Thanks, Michele > > Michele, > One more thought. I took a supplement called " Iodine and Tyrosine " , am > still taking it. Guest guest
I had Hashimoto's too, but now it is completely gone, no more antibodies!! You have to get your filling replaced before you can do a detox, or else it will draw mercury from the filling and make you worse. I did a homeopathic called " Metal Free " that I sprayed under my tongue in the mornings. It is a very slow detox but that was better for me, I could not tolerate chelation. My body needed to go slower. My doctor said excess copper is a big culprit in thyroid problems, and the homeopathic got rid of that too. Also, copper is in the water where I live so I got a water filter and drink bottled away from home. I started the " Iodine and Tyrosine " supplement 2 winters ago when I started getting thyroid symptoms even while on my medicine. It made me feel better and I did not have to increase my medicine that year. I am still on it because it supports your thyroid and helps it to function well. My doctor is a kinesiologist. He is also a chiropractor. He is not an MD but has helped me more than any of them have. One other thing about Mercury, 3 doctors have told me that Candida binds with it and you can not fully get rid of the Candida until you clear out the Mercury. Hope this helps. -- [Norton AntiSpam] Re: Kelp - I would REALLY like to know more about your heavy metals detox, if you don't mind. I am hypo-thyroid as well, on the fast path to Hashimoto's as well, per my last thyroid profile done Jan 2006. I feel pretty tired most of the time, even though I take Thyroid 75mg daily. I hate taking the meds. I got the thyroid issues after the birth of my first child, Ben. I am VERY interested in getting a detox done, and I have been looking to get my one mercury filling replaced soon too. And if this would help the thyroid issues, that would be a huge bonus. I need to be as healthy as possible with all we have going on here! Any info would be much appreciated!!!! And info on when you started the " iodine and tyrosine " supplement too would be great as well... p.s. What kind of doctor do you see for these issues? Thanks - :-)
Guest guest
Hi , My " Iodine and Tyrosine is by Thorne. It is SCD legal. Check your ingredients. The " Metal Free " is by Bodyhealth. The website is www bodyhealth.com. I use 1 squirt under my tongue per day. It IS expensive but totally worth it! I live in North Carolina, sorry I can't help with a doctor. I think word of mouth is the best, when you find people who have had success with a doctor. I found mine through a woman who had children with asthma. My doc had healed them and they were off their meds. Keep us posted how you do. -- [Norton AntiSpam] Re: Kelp Thanks so much ! I really appreciate the info. :-) I ordered the " iodine and tyrosine " (by Pure Encapsulations, right?) online tonight. I think I found the " Metal Free " one too. Is the one you are using found on the website www.metal-free.com? It says it has 240 doses. How many does per day did you use, as I noticed it was pretty expensive. The funny thing is that my son's " DAN " doc has a whole commentary on that website about how he recommends it highly, but I have never had him mention it to me in the past whole year with him! We did the whole glutathione nebulizer instead (soooo hard on Ben) to detox heavy metals, and I pulled it two months ago b/c it was pure hell to watch my little boy in agony. I will be asking his doc again about it when I talk to him! But meanwhile, I want to try it out for sure (after I get the one filling replaced of course!) I would love to be able to do something about the thyroid problems, and if it works I could recommend to my parents too (both hypo...dad is hashimoto too). Thanks again - ;-)))))) p.s. Great about your " doc " . I agree with these more homeopathic docs being better to use. What state do you live in? I need to find a good one here in Georgia.... Guest guest
Good for you ! This diet has improved my health already. My doctor keeps telling me how much better I am every time I go to see him. I have been on the " Metal Free " for almost a year. I take the lowest dose and am doing it slow because that is what my body needed. My doctor tested me for metals and Mercury before he put me on the detox. Go slow with your detox if you need to, releasing too many metals in the body at once can actually make you worse if your body is not strong enough to handle it. This diet should make you stronger. One other thing, make sure your dentist uses protection so you do not inhale any Mercury while he is taking out the filling. The vapors will go into your body and be more toxic than the filling. -- [Norton AntiSpam] Re: Kelp Thanks much ! I am getting my filling out this Saturday morning! I am so exicted to finally have it done. Honestly had I not seen your post, I would have probably delayed it again. I am hopeful htat my overall health will improve with starting the SCD diet, and getting the metals out. So, thanks! Also, one other question...how long have you been taking the " metals free " ? Did you do heavy metals test to see if you were dumping things? Thanks - ;-)
Guest guest
Hi , The thing they put on for protection is called a dam. If you inhale the mercury fumes they will go straight to your brain which is one of the places mercury lodges itself. If your dentist does not use some sort of protection I would find a dentist who does and have them remove the mercury, then go back to your regular dentist. Mercury is not something to play around with, it can cause all kinds of symptoms. -- [Norton AntiSpam] Re: Kelp > > Thanks much !
