Guest guest
Hi guys, Thank you for informing me that the K2 is not toxic, since it doesn't store in the liver. We are all learning here. After the H*** my family has been through. I don't trust anyone that easy. Carol is right, we are part of that group who comes to SCD going bankrupt and praying that we do not loose our home. Many tears. MUCH PAIN. No one could help us. We pray that our daughter's brain is not permanently damaged from the affects of CD, malabsorption and unchecked vicious cycle, that tried to rob her brain from her. I do suffer from permanent damage. I have learned to deal with it. Even though she is the worse...we all heal from some form of devastation from the SADIET diet. I would not be surprised if it is some day revealed that all people who eat starch and refined sugars don't suffer fro malabsorption of one kind or another. How could they not? Elaine says that as humans we just can't digest the junk. So it ferments in the best of us, causing havoc down in the intestines. It is not surprising to me that people are not getting enough vitamin K if my theory about malabsorption is correct. We can hope and pray that with SCD that this turns around in all of us. It is good to know that there is a safe form of K that can help those of us who want to try it. Carol said: " SCD may be more costly than the Standard American Diet but non dietary autism interventions can bankrupt a family. Mimi believes SCD should be started early because it is most effective with younger kids. Unfortunately too many come to SCD as a court of last resort. " Yes...we tried everything...or close to it. SCD was our last resort. Who wants to eat this way? We came very addicted. We did not want to say good by even to the tasty GFCF diet! Many things caused us terrible problems, set backs and simply did not work. All's we had to show for it is medical debt! And continued sickness. Most do not do this as a family. WE are feeding five this way, plus two dogs and cat (that have never been healthier I might add). We are honestly spending $1,500 to $1,700 per month to feed all of us this way. This does not count, all our therapies (OT, speech and PT) and the few supplements that we do buy. Our insurance deductible is 3000.00 per person to top this off! Yes...15,000.00 a year if all of hit maximum! We are a one income family, since I am healing from advanced CD and trying to take care of my kids to the best of my ability. We do have to be cautious. My daughter is so sensitive. Many suggestions that have been given to us with good intentions have caused her great harm. Some interventions that we have done in the past...has put our daughter in the hospital. We have to be careful to not trust everything we read. I know that what Elaine has told us to do, has only helped. So we do live by Elaine's motto: " When in doubt go without " ! I am glad that she believed in this too. Thank you Carol for sharing. You made me feel better today. Yes, I am proud to be an Elaine fanatic! Thank God for that lady! Sincerely, THE Silly yak ZOO! Antoinette, , three kids and an " aspie " dog and cat! (cd, colitis, auto-immune disease, autism, adhd, add, multiple allergies, osteoporosis and more) SCD 2/
Guest guest
OK. I keep feeling God prompting me to throw out the grocery sack of candy in our pantry from our All Saints Day party yesterday. I keep hearing this voice(not a real voice) telling me to put the whole family on scd, and rarely, if ever, turn from it. Pray for me. Guest guest
Hi guys, It just makes me SMILE to see families doing this together...or getting ready to do this together! This is just WONDERFUL! Elaine's message is slowly getting out that it is all of us who can benifit from this wonderful way of eating! Healing from the affects of the SADiet is not easy. Hang in there. We have learned that Activated Charcoal Capsules (one hour before and one hour after meals) and Epsom Salt warm soaks in the tub help much during this transistion. Following the Book is my other suggestion. Sincerely, Antoinette and family/pets included (SCD 2/06)
