Guest guest
Carol, do you have an approximate measurement of the dates to nuts? I just got that juicer and I would like to try. Thanks Pearl Re: need some honey free treats > > any ideas for some honey free halloween treats? it makes my > daughter's yeast flare! > > thanks, > > I use my Omega 8002 juicer food cone and put dates and almonds through it, roll the paste into balls and dredge in coconut. Guest guest
If you're not looking for something to hand out to other kids, and just want a good treat for your daughter: I would recommend using a juicer to make sorbet. Just put frozen fruit through and it comes out like soft serve ice cream. Our favorite way is to make tie dye sorbet: use about 5 parts mango or peach and 1 part cherry, raspberry or strawberry. About halfway through putting the light colored fruit through, put the dark colored fruit in, then finish up the remaining light colored fruit. Swirl a little more when it's in the bowl and it looks very pretty. Ellen in Boston 9 y/o dd scd since 5/06 for crohn's

If The mixture is too dry I add honey but since you are going to avoid it just put in more dates. I also make the sorbet described in another post today and everyone raves over it. We had a potluck SCD lunch last summer and I made about five different flavors right on the spot. Carol F. SCD 6 years, Celiac
Guest guest
Ellen, do you just freeze your fruit or freeze it after it's cooked? thanks Pearl If you're not looking for something to hand out to other kids, and just want a good treat for your daughter: I would recommend using a juicer to make sorbet. Guest guest
Homemade " Knox-blocks " type gelatin, made with fruit juice and perhaps molded in a fun Halloween shape? I saw some pumpkin-shaped molds, perhaps an orange juice firm gelatin would be cute in a pumpkin shape.
