Dear Carol,

I can just imagine how you are feeling at the moment. I do

sympathise. I'm sure you've thought of anything anyone else can

suggest. I think the funny movies etc. are an excellent idea! I

would think any kind of " unthinking " type of TV etc. would be what

I'd go for and also some sort of exercise....gentle in my case!!

You ought to get the best out of this surgery....hopefully no more

pain etc. and no diabetes either. Try to focus on that as well.

The essential thing is to remember that everyone feels like this

before surgery. It would be strange not to....you'd have to be

devoid of all normal emotions and reactions.

Have you thought about keeping some kind of diary around this

surgery? It might help you to focus on progress, to sort out your

thoughts, to give you an aim etc. etc. It wouldn't have to be every

day, even weekly would be good. It would be a fascinating document

afterwards. You could record your pre-surgery emotions and

experiences as well.

Only a passing thought....hope you don't mind my mentioning it. Just

ignore!

Do take care. I have been going through the pre-surgery days with

you in my mind!

With very good wishes,

Fliss (UK)
