Guest guest
Hello to both. You both seem to understand a lot with meds and pancreatitis. So I have a question. I've had recurrent attacks of pancreatitis since last July, which has now developed into chronic pain. They suspect it may be due to me having pancreas divisum, but are not sure if this is what is causing it due to the fact they can't access my ducts on ERCP to try either stents or spincterplasty (sp?). My duct isn't dilated at all, so they can't access it. In regards to medication I am currently on the birth control pill. I've been on it since I was 17 and I'm now 27. Some docs have told me to stop it and others have said that it isn't making a difference since i've been on it for 10 years and only started having pancreatic attacks a year ago. I was just wondering if either of you think I should discontinue it or if you know of research done on the affect of the pill on the pancreas. Thanks so much, Jen.
