Guest guest
Dear Tami, It seems to me to be a mystery why exercise can bring on pancreatic pain. Like Heidi, I never know whether or not I've actually made things worse in terms of acttual damage but I do know that I can bring on pain with too vigorous exercise.....not that terribly given to this anyway, I have to say. Occasionally, as a little girl, I would get an attack when I went swimming for the first time after a significant break, eg. after a cold spell when I didn't swim. This has also happened in adult life. I don't do a lot of exercise other than walking a lot as part of my job. When I go to France in the summer, I always swim a lot, every day, and that has sometimes seemed to bring on worse pain. Gardening can do it as well. Even sometimes a vigorous day of housework, changing beds, moving furniture etc. has been known to produce pain. Occasionally I've had a very odd phenomenon. Pain may begin almost as if in my muscles, eg. in the mid-back area, but then has developed into a pancreatic attck as such. I simply can't explain this but I know that I have to be careful. Not that I need a lot of persuasion to be careful with housework!!! I go easy on the swimming though and just don't swim too hard too soon when I go into regular swimmimg mode. With good wishes, Fliss (UK)
