Guest guest
I took Dylan (7) for a cat scan of his sinus' - OMG - it was the appointment from H E L L........ We got there 15 minutes early and they couldn't locate any of our paperwork - this is the Hospital our CF Center is affiliated with. We find it - actually I go searching around the Hospital til I find a person who can write the damn script or me! Dylan isn't the happiest. Recall, he has significant sensory issues and despises the Cat Scan - 1) they taped his head and 2) it MOVES......... we waited 1 hour and 45 minutes. Can you say LIVID??????????? I finally spoke to the head of Radiology. He looked like doogie houser - about 4'11 " and 27!!!!!!!! He prouldy informed me that if it was urgent my dr. would have had him go to the ER. After which I called him a little TWIRP and told him who was he to deem it an emergency? OMG - I wanted so much to yell........but had to be calm. Dylan at this point was SO SO freaked out.. we got the scan done w/o him moving - a miracle in itself. Came home to and her 103 fever and needing a white shirt and black tie. Do I look like houdi? Called a friend and borrowed one!!! Then we need oaktag for a report.......I ran to the store to get that and gatorade. CALGON take me away................................ I am so tired - its 1 AM and I just want to RELAX.........CF Center put her on cipro and coly - as a precautionary measure...........explain that to a 13.........she looks SO wiped out........ Rosemary in NY with 3 children (13, 11 and 7) with CF. I have a dog named TOBI and have coined the phrase " BREATHE DAMMIT "

Guest guest
Rosemary, We just started on Cipro and Coli this evening as well. Sometimes hospitals think we have nothing better to do with our day than sit in there waiting rooms reading 10 year old magazines. Re: Cat Scan-venting - harsh language........... Guest guest
I definitely fired the last cf doc I had who made Doogie Houser seem like a real genius! The guy knew nothing about cf at all and now heads an allegedly adult care program--makes one wonder about the meaning of the world " adult!
