He was full of cancer. Very had time...now Hoss, my other dog has all these joint problems and he's not good either. The plus side is we can make that decision...for their dignity and comfort. Sometimes I wish they could do this with people. Angus used to follow me everywhere and for a couple months after I swore I heard him behind me.
