Hi - my son was born 5 weeks early and gets his DOCband on December 1st. I looked back at some of his newborn pics last night and noticed that he was born with the plagio. Most likely from being wedged in my misshapen uterus! Anyway, I asked CT about the prematurity thing and they said they are happy when dealing with preemies cause they are technically younger than their actual age and get quicker results! They told me at the most 8 weeks in the band.- Cole is 6 months and has plagioFrom: mama2zoe <tarmeg@...>Plagiocephaly Sent: Thursday, November 27, 2008 10:27:29 AMSubject: Plagiocephaly and Prematurity

Hello Everyone!

I have enjoyed reading the posts and am so thankful to have found this

website!

After fighting my son's ped. for two months on this issue, I decided to

take my little man to a different ped. who, without batting an eye,

gave us the referral to Cranial Tech. Our first appointment is Monday,

but I have a question I am hoping someone may be able to answer before

then.

My son is 5 months old but was born 6 weeks premature. I know that the

earlier this condition is treated, the better, and that the band may

not have to be worn quite as long. So I am wondering ... will my son's

head be "treated" as 5 months old or the adjusted age of 3 1/2 months?

Thanks so much!
