Guest guest
My intrathecal pump contains morphine that is running at a rate of 3 mgs per 24/hours to the brain. I guit working in 2000, I worked in a divison of the ER, doing occupational medicine ( dealing with people injured a work) I also worked in the ER in the mornings before we opened, it was interesting. I did try to work earlier in the spring, I took a position in a nursing home PRN maybe 2 days a month but they could not accomodate my restrictions, because of the pump, I don't want to do anything to pull it out, so I have lifting, standing, and bending limitations. I would like for things to be the way they were but then wouldn't we all, I am just glad that I can take care of myself again, and do a few things I enjoy, instead of being bedfast, and starving to death. This pump has been a real God send for me, and I thank God everyday, I do have pain and it is relieved with 600mcgs of Actiq 2-3 times a day, I have mentioned degrees of pain, I think I always have pain, but this system works for me, and I can tolerate this pain. Hope this answers your questions. Atwell LPN
