He weight 3lbs. 1 oz. he is 5 years old to day and doing great!! He doesn't have CF but he still is a little guy. It is hard enough to be born early but to have CF to has got to be a challenge for him. I have three daughters and 2 of them have cf. We live in Iowa. Guest guest
BEAUTIFUL!! Thanks, LOVE & HUG, < GRDMBEV Introducing Lee, Craig & baby (wcf) P1 Wow, where do i start? This is the most amazing Cf Network of friends I've seen yet. My name is Lee (short for Leanne) I am 33 and live in Western Australia. I am originally from , but have been in WA sine 1988. I came over to visit my brother and met a bloke named Craig. Craig has been married with 3 kids wocf, although he doesnt get to see them. We were together 6 months and moved in together. I had been told for 8 years I could not conceive and have had cervical cancer twice! In Sept 2001 I was in pain and after an ulstrasound saw the little flickering peanut as they called it. Neddless to say we were dumbfounded. I had a terrible pregnancy and was also hounded with HUNDREDS of phone calls everyday from his x wife. At 6 months I had pre eclampsia (swelling and very high blood pressure) I spent alot of time in a nearby Private Hospital where I also worked at front reception so it goes without saying, I was family and they looked after me like a VIP. At 30.4 weeks I had 4++ of protein in my urine and one Feb 3rd 2002 I was flown to Perth to have my Baby by caesar at 8 pm. Just as they wheeled me in to thaatre they said there was another lady downstairs whos baby had a slim chance, and that because my baby had steroid injection I had a good chance of a perfectly healthy child. So I let them go help her. Craig had me laughing non stop with the help of a very funny anaesthetist. I didnt even feel the epidural, it was like a mosquito bite! Then at 10.30pm they took me in to have him. As soon as tehy made the incision, OWWWWCH! I felt it and it burnt. So they knocked me out. This is the hardest part about the psych problems I have today. I didnt get to see my boy til he was 12 hours old. Boy was he cute, they made out he was going to look like an alien. He was totally normal, just very little. 1305g 2lb 14oz 40cm long and 27cm head. He had the cutest little button nose and perfect thin cupids bow lips like me. I said Hello Little Kuda! (Kuda is Craigs nickname it means MATE in Aboriginal!) I decided straight away that I wanted to call him , and although Craig didnt like it at firs he said Yep it is. My Mum and Dad AND Brother (who has 2 kids) flew over from to see us. They were so happy. Mum and Dad are just crazy for Grand kids --------------------------------- Yahoo! Search - Looking for more? Guest guest
Hi Lee, I'm Terri from Hobart - originally from Sydney. We moved here nearly 10 yrs ago. How is your little precious boy doing? Is he on enzymes or any other meds? My Ainslie now 11 didn't have many drugs other than enzymes till she was 3 1/2, then nasal polyps came into play and now most of the issues she has are due to them. We started accupuncture this morning to see if that makes a difference. She has only been hospitalised for nasal polyps, nothing else. My son Connor who is 7 no cf, has had more hospital time than Ainslie for an unusual disk inflamation. It must be hard to be so far away from your folks at this time. Here on the internet we can help with advice and support. I've never been to WA - meant to a few times but life has gotten in the way. We'll be in SA for xmas at the in-laws (or as so appropriately says out-laws. My most valuable piece of advice that I can give you is go with your gut feeling about your child. You are the one who best, not a doctor, not a relative or friend. Learn all that you need to know to about CF - at times you may not want to know all the nitty gritty details- but it will put you in a great position with doctors. If I can help at all my email addy that I look at regularly is tmfox@.... Welcome and goodluck. Terri from Hobart mum to Ainslie 11 wcf and Connor 7 no cf.
