Guest guest
Hello there! Taking a break from packing! My kids plus girlfriend and wife are coming up on Sat.....they fancy a barbecue!.......and we're leaving in the early hours of Sunday so I'll have to be ready beforehand so that we can spend a few hours together. The doc who mentioned grass is actually a friend who wrote to me and was just sort of joking in a kind and friendly way. He's been very, very supportive. It just seemed a funny thing to say to a Liverpudlian....especially one who spends her days patrolling a HUGE school and its grounds, its long corridors etc!! Well, Chrissy, Alabama seems exotic to me; it doesn't really exist, does it? I thought it was just a film set LOL!!!! I'd love to visit the US, the deep south and everywhere else as well! I'd like to come to the PAI symposium one year. Of course, my gepgraphy is an absolute disgrace and I couldn't actually point to Indianapolis on a map! Yes, Jim said it was pretty cool listening to the Dalai Lama. He was being given a fellowship at one of the universities here in Liverpool. It was a very simple ceremony (usually they are full of pomp etc.), perhaps at his request. The cathedral was packed, of course, and he finally spoke for about 20 minutes in very broken English but had a great sense of fun as well. Well, Jim HAS come back bald......but then he was bald when he went!! (I was hoping for a miracle and he'd come back with hair!!) No chanting though, but then he hasn't had his beer yet this evening! You've really cheered me up! I HATE packing. It reminds me how fat I am and I can never decide what to take anyway to take account of the weather. I like to have 17 different pairs of shoes with me and it ain't possible! I can't take my usual mountain of things because we're not hiring a car this time. I don't think Jim fancies driving on that Spanish Costa de Sol motorway! We'll stay put but spend one day in Granada and then go to Seville or Cordova by bus and stay overnight. Hope it's warm enough to swim outside! Carry on being wonderful and getting better and better and better!! I'm sure your daughter will wow the boys. I remember Heidi talking about how lovely she was, and how intelligent. Of course, it takes one to recognise one....and to make one!! Love to you all on that side of the pond, Fliss (UK)
