Guest guest
Supermarkets, health food stores and specialty markets like Whole Foods sell nut butter in jars, and in some places it is even ground fresh. It is ceasily made in a food processor and you may have to add a little bit of oil to get it to the right consistency. I adapted the standard *Pecanbread Peanut Butter Brownie recipe by substituting other nut butters. Howver I also added a lkittle bit of regular butter (which you don't need to use) some vanilla and cinnamon. I cut the cooled brownies into 1 " squares and froze them because when you eat them partially thawed they taste even more chewy and fudgie. *PEANUT BUTTER BROWNIES by Bev 1 cup peanut butter (or other nut butter) 1/2 cup honey 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 egg Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Guest guest
You may want to try the banana pancakes again.... but use TWO eggs instead. Then, also make them fairly small.... silver dollar sized. Easier to flip. Patti need GOOD pancake recipe can anyone tell me a good recipe for pancakes? I've made the banana pancakes and they turn out more like crepes. I made a batch yesterday with 1 egg, 1 yolk, 1/4 peanut butter and 3/4 bananna and 1/2 teas baking powder and they turned out great just like a pancake....but he can't have peanut butter yet so I'm stumped on how to make the batter thicker without peanut butter. We are scrounging for breakfast ideas. He was used to eating waffles, strudels and french toast in the am. Guest guest
So if we are on day 5 and he's not supposed to have nuts yet is nut butter OK. How do you use it as a substitute for nut flour. All of the recipies have nut flour and would probably be good because they would turn out more like a pancake, those without just taste/look like fried eggs. I just need to know can he have nut butter now ( i think he can) and how do i use it as a substitute? carolfrilegh wrote: Supermarkets, health food stores and specialty markets like Whole Foods sell nut butter in jars, and in some places it is even ground fresh. When baking or making pancakes I use the same amount of nut btter as the nut flour called for in the recipes. Carol F. Guest guest
If you can use pecans, I make a great pancake recipe for my son. I grind up some raw organic pecans (very fine) then I add some vanilla extract, 2 eggs and some cinnanmon. Then I take a tablespoon full of batter and cook it like a regular pancake. After the pancakes are done, I take a ripe banana cut it up and put it in the microwave for 40 seconds, then I smashed it up like syrup and put it on top of the pancakes. My son loves them!!! You can actually make alot of pancakes and put them in the fridge for a couple of days and all you have to do is put them in the microwave and then make your banana syrup after. Hope this helps. " as Costznza said on " Seinfield, " but I continue to invite you to share many recipes at: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/scdrecipe_creators/ Here are two new recipes posted there this week: Hot Crab Melt Cranberry Crunch Donna, the moderator says she has about 300 recipes in her collection and many are different from those on SCD Recipe (also a fabulous resource). Guest guest
My son really loves the pancakes I make and so does my NT daughter strangely enough - so I'll share it..... I cook turkey thighs in the crockpot overnight. In the morning I take the meat off one thigh and place it in the food processor, then I add 2 eggs and a about 2 TBL of Peanut Butter. I whirl it up and cook it on the griddle with a little ghee. They eat them throughout the day as a " snack " too. They come out very firm and nicely brown - holding together wonderfully. I've also made variations with vegetables in them instead of peanut butter and cooked them in olive oil - more like a chicken patty. Those are a big hit too.
