Guest guest
Hi Karla...congratulations on the weight loss. I am hoping to have surgery the first of Feb. I attempted to send you an email but it would go through. I want to hear about your experience with the MGB. Will try to send again and hopefully it may go through. Guest guest
It's so good to hear from people who are on then " other side " . I am looking forward to being in your shoes soon! I am 41 yrs old, female from IN, and am planning to make the drive because I want Dr R to perform the surg. I just wish it was already scheduled. Afraid I am going to have to jump thru alot of hoops with insurance and may still not be able to get this approved. However, I have a boss that I think will loan me the $$ if it comes down to it. Just have to get all the facts to present it to him. Wish me luck!

HAD to pay for weight loss? Am I wrong?? I don't think so. There are others from there that have had the MGB. Keep me posted. I live in South Carolina now. Guest guest
As far as I know, Indiana does not HAVE to pay. I WISH! My insurance company has an exclusion for all weightloss and gastric bypass etc. But I plan to try to appeal and get them to pay. I'd love to know if there is someone that knows for sure about the Indiana law.... Jennfer

I have been losing slowly and I am just trying to get a perspective. I am 52 years old, 5 feet tall, my pre op weight was 269. I have been on hormone replacement therapy for two years and did re start them after the surgery. Although I am much more active since the surgery, I am not " officially " exercising. I had my surgery on 7/17/00. As of today, I am down 26 lbs. Would you mind giving me some info? Your age, height, menstrual status, exercise status. If you would like to do this more privately, I am at efegale@.... Thank you so much. Eileen
Guest guest
I am working on my pre-op packet and need my 10 contacts. Can you please help me out? I'd love to know if > there is someone that knows for sure about the Indiana law.... > Jennfer Hi , My name is Rhonda . I am from Northern Indiana. I also was told that Indiana passed a law that insurance had to pay for WLS. I called the state representative for Indiana, Wolkins, is the name they gave me. I talked to a secretary at the state office. She sent me the bill that was passed concerning insurance having to pay for wls. I have scanned it a couple of times pretty quick, but to be honest, I am not good with that kind of thing. I think it takes someone who knows legal jargon to dicypher it. I am going to give it to my sister-in-law to look over to see if she can make heads or tails out of it. She is a lawyer. If you are interested in having a copy of what they sent me I can send it to you snail mail if you give me your address. In the meantime do whatever you can. I have finally had to get the Division Director and Benefits Director where I work involved because I am getting absolutely nowhere with Cigna. The Benefits Director and I talked with Cigna again today. I told Cigna they have till Wednesday, September 27 at 10:00 a.m. to give me an answer or I am going to take it to the Indiana Insurance Commission. That is where I am at at this time. I am not giving up. My e-mail address is rhonda.cox @ rrd.com (no spaces, must show it like this so you will get my whole address). Good luck. What part of Indiana are you from? Bonded by our experience, strength and hope, Rhonda

Guest guest
Hey Memory, I just posted about you this morning to from Tulsa. You are doing so wonderful - I am proud of you. I have lost 40 pounds and could not feel better. Tiny, tiny portions but eating mostly what sounds good to me. No dumping - have only thrown up once. What is this about football players? Even the football announcer calls my 13 year old son " Stud Muffin " . Go figure.
