Guest guest
Hello all, It's been a while since I last post. I had been doing really good until last Wed. I had this taste of soap in my mouth and throat. I took some tums and my zofran and I was ok. On Thurday the same thing happened but this time it didn't go away it got worse. Luckily I work at a hospital and my office manager took me to the ER. She said it sounded like " metabolic Keto acidosis. Never heard of it. Well they gave me the usual cocktail of Demoral and phenergan. I ended up getting a double dose of demerol because my tolerance had built up because I take oxycontin daily. My enzymes were high. My white count was high (didn't get an antibiotic)my RBC, HGB AND HCT, were also high. My Total protein and alkaline phosphatase and Lipase were high. My calcium was low. My doctor did not come to the hospital I was at and wanted to go to the downtown hospital but they wouldn't let me go. I had some foreign idiot (internal med)doctor who knew NOTHING about treating CP. He asked " Why you on so many medicines " ? DUH!! Why do you have pancreatitis? AGAIN DUH!!. I wanted to pull my hair out. I ended up asking to go home the next day because all I was getting was clear liquids and pain med. I can do the same at home. I think the attack was the result of my DIVORCE. It is almost over but he is being a real A*S. My attorney (God love her) brought my papers that I needed to sign to finalize the divorce to me at the hospital. The weekend was uneventful. My dad called me while in the hospital and told me " I Love you Kid " My family does not show any kind of affection. I just don't remember hearing him ever say that. It felt sooo good. The morning my mom called me at work and he was in the local ER and thinks he may have had a heart attack. He was transferred to another hospital and had better md's that handle this kind of thing. I must go but I had to share this. Thanks Patty J. Corydon, IN
