Guest guest
I don't know, but I had an incredible apple cider slurpy today at a nearby orchard. I was just ice and freshly pressed cider. I'm going to be making this for our family now. Meleah sunflower seeds and slurpees > Are roasted sunflower seeds in the shell legal? Guest guest
As long as nothing but salt has been added to the sunflower seeds. Read the label carefully... my husband (not on SCD) is a sunflower seed nut and recently discovered that his favorite brand of seeds-in-the-shell actually had MSG added! MSG may not be SCD illegal... but I would hope everyone would want to avoid it anyway. Keep in mind (especially other list members who may be reading this) what BTVC says about seeds: <<Do not use seeds of any kind until three months after the last symptom has disappeared and then try them cautiously>>. I have no clue about the 7-11 Slurpees... I can't imagine wanting to take the chance. I doubt they just pour diet Pepsi out of the can onto the ice, they probably use some sort of syrup version of the Pepsi. Diet or not, I would be uneasy about what else might be in it. You'd have to ask the 7-11 manager for a written list to verify no illegals. Why not just enjoy the *occasional* cold diet Pepsi on it's own? Is this for your 7-yr-old? Patti sunflower seeds and slurpees Are roasted sunflower seeds in the shell legal? I know that roasted peanuts are, so would the same apply to sunflower seeds. Also does anyone know the ingredients in the 7 Eleven slurpees. I was told that the diet pepsi slurpee is just ice and diet pepsi? Is this true? Guest guest
Please avoid the artificial sugars contained in Diet Pepsi and other diet sodas. They can mess up the brains of children. There are books written about this topic. Mimi > As long as nothing but salt has been added to the sunflower seeds. Guest guest
I need a little clarification about this whole seed thing. Recently, someone made a comment regarding seeds that led me to believe that you should not use seeds even in their ground form(cumin, fennel, corriander, ect.). The comment was that seeds should be introduced a bit further into scd, not at the beginning. Now, I'm reading that seeds should not be introduced until all symptoms are eliminated for a while. Can I use the ground spices? I use cumin very regularly for fajita marinades and other Mexican recipes. Guest guest
Meleah, Ground cumin and coriander are legal as spices for cooking, I know that. I don't remember reading a post in which anyone said they were not. Sorry for the confusion. Patti Re: sunflower seeds and slurpees I need a little clarification about this whole seed thing.
