,

I got one for ay. Last week I had this huge disagreement (putting

very nicely) With my Husband. I am so upset I pull up to Port a subs and

order the largest sandwich they have and a well yea some chips. I get home

get my napkins out open the sandwich and my son walks by and starts laughing

and I start laughing his friend says what is wrong the sandwich looks fine to

me. I realized just as my son I can eat about 4 bites and the other foot and

a half of the sandwich is wasted. So It really does take time for your body

to catch up with your head.

I say the bacon would make a wonderful blt for lunch ! Send it here please.

I eat about

1/2 to 3/4 of a blt on a day when I am in an eating mode...1/4 on a small

capacity day. On a

day when I'm feeling guilty about eating (messages from my old brain) I have a

nice salad

with some awful fat free dressing (maybe I'm into self punishment, huh?).

Yesterday was a no

guilt day...home made roast beef hash with gravy. It was so good I thought I'd

died and gone

to heaven.

Ok, what is wrong with me? I am 5 1/2 weeks post op, and I just ate a whole

6 inch chicken breast sub from Subway. I ate it slow, figuring I would only

be able to eat a couple of bites of bread, and maybe a few more bites of the

chicken. I was really, really hungry when I got there, I hadn't had anything

since lunch, and I usually have an afternoon snack. But still, nobody else

seems to be able to eat that much. And I wasn't that full. I was satisfied,

but not uncomfortable at all. Can anyone else eat that much?

Thanks . I have been really worried that I am stretching out my

stomach. When I first started eating solids, I would be puking after every

few bites. Now, it seems like I can eat so much, and I don't want to ruin

all of my efforts. I am trying to listen to my body, I just wish it would be

full as quickly as it used to be! I guess I will still lose, I just don't

want to be the first and only one this didn't work for.

Yum!!! But I already put it outside and it was scarfed up by

whatever creature happened by within about 15 min. I live

in sort of a nature preserve-like setting and the wild

animals all stop by to check on handouts, which have gone

up considerably since my MGB!

Say, if you like Ranch dressing, the Marzetti Peppercorn

Fat Free Ranch is really good (it has a *lot* of pepper,

though, so if you don't like pepper you won't like it).

Walmart (again . . .) sells it in the refrigerated section

where the lettuce is.

Yeah. Those old habits die hard and slow. Notice that you

got your sandwich in *direct* response to having an argument

with your husband, even though food doesn't provide that

nice comforting feeling anymore, either. That is a really,

really hard one to break. I do the same thing!

For the rest of today's adventure and excitement, I just got

some fried chicken and ate the fried part off one piece and

have found out that, yes, indeed, you can dump from

fats. Bleah.

Okay, Flo and , I'm jealous! If I eat anything that once

remotely resembled a cow or a pig I hurl!! Sometimes I can eat a

little grilled chicken and I eat boiled baby shrimp on a daily

basis. But forget roast beef hash with gravy (Yummmm!!!) and, oh for

a blt!! Sometimes I do chew on a piece of steak and then spit it out

before my stomach starts rocking and rolling (isn't that a pretty

picture?) No fried foods or red meats anymore; my stomach protests

too much!!

I wouldn't be able to eat a BLT, either. I've only had

bread of any kind 2 or 3 times since surgery. It didn't

bother me, but for some reason, I am actually averse to

it now, I don't know why. I don't just not want it,

I avoid it. I don't know why but I figure, count my

blessings!

I can get away with eating a half piece of bacon at a time,

because I chew it and chew it and chew it and chew it. I

don't do too well with fresh cooked chicken of any sort, but

prime rib was *fine* the one time I've had it. I haven't

had much success with hamburger, either. Canned hash does

fine. Most soft canned meats are okay (like the Castlebury's

barbecued beef and soy protein stuff or Dinty Chicken n'

dumplings). The processed meats seem to sit better. I

could eat shrimp from about the second week, but now I don't

care for it anymore. Beats me why. Fried foods make me dump

(I think that's great, personally. It is making me learn to

hate fatty foods).

I have become a much more picky eater than even my skinny kid

has been. It's pretty funny -- me, a picky eater! Imagine!

Kind regards,

: There are times when I wish my stomach could not stomach these

foods. I keep

having the feeling that I'm cheating. I keep thinking that my weight loss will

come to a

screeching halt if I eat anything that doesn't taste like gruel. Tonight for

dinner I had 1/2 of a

calzone..pepperoni and green pepper and of course ricotta and mozzarella. Now

tomorrow I

will be counting the tiny rosebuds on the bathroom wallpaper...because I'll have

time to do

so...because I'll be there lots...if you get my drift. So....to be honest, I

think that I'm going to

do some rearranging of my eating. It didn't even taste that good, and I don't

care if I never

have one again..and the price may be high tomorrow. Drema didn't enjoy hers

either and

threw most of it in the trash. But BLT's...now that's another story. Yum!

My stomach definately does not like high fat foods but the reaction is not until

the next day. I

have never thrown up. I have never gotten sick from food (except I felt not too

great after

spaghetti and meat balls last week and I ate a very tiny amount of spaghetti and

about 1/3 of

a not huge meatball)..so I may not do pasta well. We'll see.

It's trial and error. I do worry about how my quantity is increasing. I can eat

nearly a whole

hamburger and not be uncomfortable. I wonder if that's abnormal. And I keep

wondering if

I'm stretching my stomach.

I've eaten most of a whole six-inch roast beef sub and most of a

six inch turkey sub before, but it takes awhile to eat it and

I am usually tee-totally *stuffed* when I finish and I don't

eat all the bread. There's about 1/4-1/2 the bread left, but

I pick at the toppings and eat the meat.

I also think my stomach has gotten *smaller* since surgery (scar

tissue, maybe?) and I'm 2.5 mos. ahead of you, so give it time. I

think I actually could eat more a couple months ago than I can now,

but now I eat more often than I did.

Well, you've succeeded in convincing me that *I'M* a major

piggy eater.

Today: 3 pieces of bacon, 5 bites of scrambled egg, a Dinty

lunch-size can of chicken n' dumplings, a whole

8 oz. can of chicken ala king, 1/4 bag (about 1/2 cup) of

chocolate covered raisins, 3 large chocolate covered sugar

wafers (craving chocolate this week, can you tell?), skin

off a chicken (urped that up), three bites of chicken, a

salad with fat-free dressing. And the day is *not* over

yet.

Here was today:

Breakfast, small amount of cheerios and milk which did not agree with me and I

Mid-Morning: 1 very small chocolate chip cookie

Lunch: Salad with ranch dressing

Mid afternoon snack: two very small chocolate chip cookies (notice how I have

Dinner: 1/2 of a small calzone

Help. Someone counsel
