I have been on the onelist since last Nov. My insurance would not approve me for Dr. R. On 8/8 I had the open RNY. I have lost 45 lbs and feel great. I went back to work after 2 weeks. I have had NO problems at all. I am very pleased with my surgery and my doctor. I remain on this list to hear support and to keep on top of things. No matter what surgery you have, we are all in the same boat and are here to support not criticize which surgery you have. I wish you all the best on your journey! Guest guest
Hi my name is Becky. I have been reading these messages for quite some time. My doctor just approved me for the surgery yesterday and I sent in my insurance info today!! I'm so excited that I'm finally on my way. I'm only 21 years old, but my BMI is 42. I saw that someone mentioned PCOS on here. I was very happy to see that someone else other than myself and my mother (who is also on here and having the surgery Shelly ) that has this syndrome. It's seemed like such a dead end for me. I've been active all of my life playing in various sports at a time, while dieting and still never loose anything. Finally last year, a doctor told me that I had hyperinsulinemia, which it is my understanding, makes it virtually impossible to lose weight, unless I starve. This surgery seems like my only hope. It's been great listening to everyone's stories. If anyone else has PCOS on here, I would love to talk to you. Also, I need contacts so if any of you would like to help out, that would be great!!! Thanks, Becky _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
