Guest guest
Elaine said Dr. Haas told her to use both the SCD yogurt, and an acidophilus supplement... and so that's what she did, and what she always recommended. It's sort of up to you.... if you feel he has quite a bit of healing left to do, you may want to add that extra supp of acidophilus. Patti Probiotic question my son has been taking Florastor (saccharomyces boulardi 250 mg) for about 9 months. Two or three caps a day. Should he also be on an additional probiotic? He is using goat's milk yogurt as his only dairy. He seems to be doing well cognitively but if he ingests any traces of sugar or casein, he is bouncing off the walls for hours. I assume that means his gut is not healed yet. Thanks for the help on the probiotic. , mom to broderick, ASD, SCD 11 months

Guest guest
In terms of supplemental probiotics, Elaine recommended acidophilus only. Later, she okayed s.boulardii, for those battling clostridia. I *think* just one other strain is allowed..... (other moderators please stop me if I'm wrong).... and that would be l.casei. All the bifidus, bifidum, or bifido- bacteria are illegal on SCD, so avoid any combo probiotic products that contain those. Kirkman Labs has a legal acidophilus.... and yes, the SCDolphilus from GI ProHealth is listed on the pecanbread.com website as being legal. Guest guest
What would be the approximate or recommended dosage of acidophilus for an 8-year-old child? Thank you, mother of Adam (8, PDD-NOS, Lyme, hypotonia, asthma, egg allergy, SCD 7/06) At 11:37 PM 10/3/2006, you wrote: >Hi , >Klaire Labs makes a SCD compliant probiotic. Just L. acidophilus or S. boulardii as probiotics. Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 22yrs mom of and

You can gradually work up to this amount and can split it up to receive it over the day. Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 22yrs mom of and
