Guest guest
GREAT news. I am sorry the negative had to present itself first.BUt-------they have caught AND are doing things -dramatic things----to help correct /prevent future infections. Stay on them always. I am sorry the need of the surgery , but he will feel so much better hopefully. take care & know you all are in our thoughts & best wishes LOVE & HUGS< GRANDMOMBEV Shaelin & Boston Childrens Hi Everyone, As usual, I read all of the post but do not post very often. The news about Boston Children's was particularly scary for me as Shaelin just was in there last month for IV antibiotics. Luckily I insisted that 3 of the 4 week could be done at home and they reluctantly agreed. Today he is going in for a pre-op eval and he is having surgery for sinus polyp removal on Monday. Hopefully it will only be an overnight admission and this time he will not feel well so keeping him confined should not be difficult. They just redid their clinic which desperatly needed it. In the old clinic there was a large playroom with visibly dirty toys. Now there is no playroom and patients are moved into their rooms soon after arrival. Hopefully these changes will help. ------------------------------------------- The opinions and information exchanged on this list should IN NO WAY be construed as medical advice. Guest guest
The > news about Boston Children's was particularly scary for me as Shaelin > just was in there last month for IV antibiotics. I have been out of touch for a week or so... just been too busy to get to all the mail. What was the news about Boston Children's? My son had his sweat tests done there but we opted to go to MGH for follow up on his pediatrician's advice. I think all waiting rooms are pretty disgusting. I wish they would give us one of those beeper things like they use in restaurants to let us know when to come to the floor for the appointments. We use my sons original ENT in Quincy for polyp surgery. He uses a very sophisticated helmet with targeting telemetry inside to assist in the surgery. The set up is actually more advanced than what they have at Children's. My son comes home about 5 the day of the surgery. The anesthesia makes him very sick afterwards so they let him sleep and give him plenty of anti-naseau drugs. I hope all goes well for your son's surgery and he is home soon. jan
