Guest guest
Hi , > No idea this time how the yoghurt failed. Followed directions given by > Sheila. Cashew nut Yoghurt didn't thicken, after 10 hours. As long as you cooled the milk before adding the yogurt starter (Progurt, right?), stirred it in and put in the yogurt maker you should get some kind of fermentation. Was the cashew nut milk thicker this time (after grinding and straining)? Did you add honey? Was there any tartness to the yogurt after 10 hours? Is this your first batch of yogurt with this bottle of starter? > Can anyone recommend a legal goats milk source that I can use in the > Princeton NJ area? My Dan doctor doesn't want me to use casein at all. Guest guest
You might want to check your thermometer. It could be inaccurate (common) and the milk actually too hot when you're adding the starter. Either that or your jar of starter is bad altogether. Possibilities: 1.Is this a new yogurt maker? It may not have the correct heat. 2. What type of yogurt maker is it? Have you made yogurt before this? 3. The starter could be bad.
