Guest guest
To me, baked goods made with pecan flour taste like chocolate. If you made this cake with pecan flour,it might taste like chocolate. http://uclbs.org/recipes/desserts/sue14datecake.php Mimi > > Does anyone know if there is a legal chocolate tasting alternative? > > Thanks, Dana > Garrett and > Celiac > SCD 4 months > > > --------------------------------- > How low will we go? Guest guest
How about a legal chocolate-tasting alternative without eggs? My chocolate-loving son is allergic to eggs. How I dread Halloween. He doesn't like any kind of non-chocolate candy or cookie. mother of Adam (8, PDD-NOS, Lyme, asthma, egg allergy, SCD 7/06) At 10:13 AM 10/19/2006, you wrote: >Digestive Wellness has a cookie called " Fudge Snackaroons " , it really >tastes like chocolate! Guest guest
Did you try the " Nutty Caramels " recipe from Grain Free Gourmet? That's very good! " M. Guest guest
I just want to remind everyone that most decaf coffees contain illegal ingredients. Please be very careful. Guest guest
Would the chemicals be listed on the coffee can? Thanks Sue SCD 7 mths, CC 25 yrs

Guest guest
Dear List: I get my decaf coffee from Whole Foods Market. I will have to write to Allegro and see if they add starch to their whole bean decaf French roast. I take the freshly roasted whole bean from whole foods and grind in the machine on premises (I probably should do at home to avoid any cross contamination). I had not heard of starch being added to the whole beans but certainly it is possible. The smoothie recipe makes 6 large smoothies, with all the ice and water, I think the coffee is pretty weak - maybe you can try with caffeinated coffee. I try not to give my kids caffeine. Good Luck, I hope this was helpful. Guest guest
I honestly think it's just INSTANT coffee or chemically-processed decaf that is not allowed. Swiss water process decaf is fine.... there's no chemicals used in that kind. Patti Re: Legal chocolate tasting alternative? Would the chemicals be listed on the coffee can? Guest guest
Carol, I have never heard this. Do you have a reference to a message/post from Elaine or something? Thanks... Guest guest
Dear List: I recently made the coffee smoothie and realized it tastes more like chocolate if you add more pecans. Instead of using 1/2 cup of pecans use 3/4 cup. The recipe make 6 cups of frozen smoothie. The beef bone broth makes the consistency very close to ice cream if you put enough ice to make it super thick. Here's the recipe again with the change. 3/4 cup of pecans 1 cup of water (or beef broth (it can't have any seasoning added to it)) (The beef broth gives it a real creamy texture almost like ice cream because of the gelatin I guess.) 3/4 - 1 cup of expresso 1/2 cup of honey (or more, taste to see if still bitter) 4-5 cups of ice (more if you want thicker) Sorry for the change. I don't really measure too much when I'm making it. They usually turn out good even with a slight recipe change. Eileen Brown
