I thought I would share a fact I read recently re: the role of enzymes in

pain reduction of pancreatitis. This is found in Manual of Gastroenterology,

Little Brown & Co, 2000

Pancreatic enzyme supplements are also used for pain relief in some patients.

It is believed that negative feedback inhibition, provided by the enzyme

supplements may decrease the stimulus for pancreatic secretion and decrease

pancreatic ductal pressure and resultant pain.

So there we have it. it may not work for many, but when it does, we know why.

For what its worth.
