Guest guest
Here I go again. Allow me to preface my statement with the realization that the MGB is not for everyone. Weight loss surgery in general is not for everyone. Many of us researched WLS in general in excess of three years. So, I am others were privy to all information to make an informed decision. This list serves many purposes. There will be some who will decide that Dr R and the MGB are not for them. That's not a bad thing. There are still thousands of people in the data base who are trying to get this surgery. So, Dr is not going to be sad if certain individuals go in a different direction. He is trying very hard to decrease his patient load anyway. I was sick from the very beginning. I posted to both groups. I never felt I had to hide the truth to make others feel better. Pam posted her story, and others who had major complications. So, I beg to differ with , et al. spoke to over 90 post ops about this surgery. And all of the outcomes were not optimal. She was very well informed. I have communicated with via email, and I understand her disappointment. However, the frustration she feels could be more effectively directed. I am not a mental health professional, but there are at least two on this list. But, according to the DSM IV, many of us could probably be " considered " unbalanced. So, that's not a slight, it just fact. Dr R has always been accommodating to me. But, I am not the " needy " type...so I don't need much. But, I bet if I went to him in an obnoxious, disrespectful, condescending, and arrogant manner...I would not expect him to be too sympathetic towards my case. So, common sense, traditional etiquette, home training purports that your needs would be better served in we practiced good manners. Dr R owes NO ONE an explanation for anything. Yall got it " twisted " (translation...you have the wrong understanding). And at four months, what type of help do you think he can provide? Perhaps it's easy to " blow off " someone who has cried wolf on more than one occasion (just speculating) That doesn't do much for a person's credibility. So, pre-ops, if the MGB is not for you, then keep moving and find a surgery that is right for you. If you can be moved by every breeze of discontentment, you wouldn't be a candidate for this surgery, anyway. So, do what's best for you. Nobody's feeling will be hurt. Guest guest
Amen to that, I agree with CUTE. Its not for everyone, and they need to move on, fear doesn't help the healing process. And you have to have confidence in your DOCTOR. Joyce Indiana

Guest guest
le - Thanks for speaking up. I've been frustrated by recent postings, but haven't been able to find words tactful enough to put on our MGB list. It's vital that people know that they can voice concerns and negative reactions here. It's also of equal importance that people not stoop to name-calling and labelling when disagreements break out. Your posts are always among my favorites. Keep on writing! xoxo Blair
