Guest guest
Having been a military dependent for over 44 years I can honestly say this is the complete truth. There were several times when the military didn't get that pay raise and only one time during my husband's 30 service in the United States Marine Corp did we see a 4% raise. Most cost of living raises were a mere 3% which never came close to the " real " cost of living. Let us also mention for those brave men in our military service their wives and children who spend " most " of there time without a husband and a father. A woman who marries a military man and who also takes on the roll of a father and mother should also be commended... I am so sorry for those families who lost loved ones in the Sept 11 attack, however I too, like so many other Americans donated money to help them. I gave up one of my 5 days of yearly vacation (granted it wasn't much) and donated it. Why...why??? is our government willing to give so much more? If you give to one you must give to the others...but I agree we should never forget the soldiers who are fighting for all of our freedom. There must be a happy middle in all of this.
