Guest guest
Hi Sonja, Sonja, I'm sorry to say this is a common problem and it does seem to come and go. But, I know of no solution to this problem. It does help to stay outdoors and keep moving. Best wishes, Poncho - GA
Guest guest
Hello, I just have to ask for another advice. I have had this problem with terrible smell when I, " sorry " fart. During the last days I cannot even go out, I cant control it and can hardly stand to be in the same room as myself. Any good recommendation, help. When I told my doctor yesterday (who doesn´t know anything about pancreas or CP as I understood yesterday as he could not answer questions I have had information about from you all) he laughed, I offered him to take over for a day or two which could make anyone stop laughing. I was hurt, my problem still goes on, I am looked in, not too much pain at the moment but I cant meet anyone or even go to the shop. Lots of regards from Stockholm and Sonja
Guest guest
Sonja, I had the same problem when I was 1st diagnosed. Are you taking any kind of pancreatic enzymes? I take lipram cr 10. I take 4 before meals and 3 with snacks. After I stated taking them the gas and bloating (at least most of it) went away. My family also couldn't stand being in the room with me. I think you need to see a specialist re: your panc. Most family doctors are not educated enough to treat your symptoms. Hope this helps Patty Jensen Corydon, IN > Embarrassing problem > > Hello, I just have to ask for another advice. I have had this problem > with terrible smell when I, " sorry " fart. Guest guest
Sonja, If you dig back through the messages from a couple of months ago, you will find a lengthy series of exchanges on the subject of flatulence and pancreatitis. To summarize the exchanges: It's a common (almost universal) problem for people with chronic pancreatitis and it does become uncontrollable. The problem stems from gas generated in our intestines because we don't digest our food well. Pancreatic enzymes help some. Also, over-the-counter gas medications sometimes help but there seems to be no good solution to the problem. In my case, I can use the problem as an indicator. When the flatulence gets bad, it's usually an indication that I should get ready because in a few hours I'm going to have a bad episode of pancreatitis.
