Guest guest
, You will have to make your own broth. Commercial is not allowed. You don't have to do soup. They can just have the chicken and cooked carrots, and the carrots don't have to be pureed. Beef patties are fine, too. For snacks, you can just give them more of the same intro diet food. It's going to be a hard two days, but it will be worth it. Meleah Intro Diet Questions >I know that my kids won't eat the soup & eggs on the intro diet; I > don't know about anything else. Guest guest
Michele, Just make sure the carrots are WELL-COOKED... really soft... and make sure they chew well, or you'll probably see chunks of carrot undigested at the other end. I remember one mom who reported that her son refused to eat ANYTHING on the intro diet.... so he basically fasted, taking only diluted grape juice. Seems extreme... but for that short a time, he really was okay. Remember, it's not just the kids who are used to the frequent snacks, it's the bad gut bugs, too. The bad guys will be very desperate for some fuel... and may make the kids extra desperate, too! Is there any chance they would accept little mini meatballs? You could do those with pureed carrot and egg mixed in, and they probably wouldn't notice. I know a mom who made these up... baked them in the oven, then put a whole bunch in the crock pot on low, with some of the broth, just to keep them moist. Then they were available all day long for the " urge to snack " . If you do it this way, you could also put a sprig of fresh thyme, some bay leaves, or something like that in with them... tied up in cheesecloth, possibly... just for some flavor and fragrance. You throw the whole herbs away, of course. Yes, salt is fine. Patti Intro Diet Questions I know that my kids won't eat the soup & eggs on the intro diet; I don't know about anything else. This will be challenging so I'm taking the time to prepare instead of just jumping in without knowing enough. I did finish the book & it's highlighed with notes & page markers LOL, but sometimes I do miss stuff anyway, so please bear with me! Guest guest
Yes, they would probably eat the meatballs. A crockpot may have to be my next purchase... I've never even made my own broth believe it or not. It's not that I don't cook, but there are certain things I'll need to get used to making & not buying. Thanks, Michele > > Michele, > > Just make sure the carrots are WELL-COOKED... really soft... and make sure they chew well, or you'll probably see chunks of carrot undigested at the other end. > > I remember one mom who reported that her son refused to eat ANYTHING on the intro diet.... so he basically fasted, taking only diluted grape juice.
