Please put " SCD and ASD " in the subject line.

Please include:

the age of your child

length of time on SCD

yogurt type (if any) and length of time using yogurt

I'd like everyone whose ASD child has improved on SCD to please write

to me and let me know the specific ways in which SCD has helped.

Some possibilities include:

improved stool (improved constipation or improved D.)

less bloating

potty training

cognitive improvement

improved reading skills

improved focus

improved articulation

improved grammar

improved language attempts

less scripting

improved receptive language

improvement in following directions

improved behavior (specify)

fewer tantrums

less anxiety

less rigidity (more flexible)

less stimming

more appropriate play

improved social skills

improved sleep patterns

decreased food issues (more willing to eat new foods)

decrease in illnesses (used to get sick all the time, now does not)

increased tolerance for foods that were formerly not tolerated

decreased need for antifungals

improvement of yeast markers on OAT and/or comp. stool test

This list is not exhaustive by any means, but just some ideas to get

you thinking about how SCD has helped your child.

Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to send me your

responses.

Please tell us how this information is going to be used? Is this something

related to the

Pecanbread list? I was unaware that such a survey was going to be conducted.

Carol,

The information will be used in the way that all of the previous

information has been used. Positive information is collected to help

identify what areas seem to be helped by following SCD.

There are many parents reports on the pecanbread.com website, but none

of them are recent. I'd like to add new ones.

I'd also like to turn the information into a file that is sent out to

new members when they join the list. Knowing the gains that other

children have made provides a lot of motivation for parents who are

just beginning and need encouragement to undertake such a dramatic

change in their lifestyles.

Thank you for this information, Jody. ( I am curious by nature especially when

it comes to

SCD and how information can be gathered and applied for its further effacy.)

Our database and files are very valuable adjuncts to the diet and in clarifying

the science

behind it. We always urge members to avail themselves of these resources. They

are listed

on the upper left menu of the home page.
