I'll have to ask about the full body one. Thanks for the information. Guest guest
, When I have my bone scans done it is a full body scan. SandySqueek, and others,When I saw Dr. Buckner, she asked me if I had had a full body bone scan. She seemed a little surprised when I told her no. My rheumy takes regular scans of my hip area, but that's all. Do you guys get bone scans of your FULL body??Love, DISCLAIMER!!WE ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, THEREFORE ANY INFORMATION THAT IS RECEIVED HERE IS FROM EXPERIENCE ONLY. Guest guest
Hi, everyone. When I was fist diagnosed and trying to get treatment at the King Faisal Hospital in Riyadh, the consultant rheumatologist sent me for a bone scan, as opposec to a bone density scan. It shows areas of inflammation in your body. They inject you with (I think) radioactive iodine, then sort of x-ray you. Nothing painful or uncomfortable about it. The result is a rather cute little picture of a skeleton with black areas around my joints and head area. The technician said - " you are seeing the doctor soon are you? " Which I was, but all the doctor said was " it showed a lot of inflammation, but we knew that, didn't we? " I think from his point of view it confirmed someone else's diagnosis. So I am not sure whether we are talking about two different things here. Love Liz __________________________________________________
