I really like that idea. Can you tell me what minced meat is and how to make it? Can anyone tell me how to make beef broth? I have never made beef broth as I seem to have recipes that call for chicken. When I make vegetable soup I use diluted tromato juice. I found this on the Internet: Ingredients for Standard Beef Broth Recipe 2 lbs. of beef (one-fourth bone) piece of bay leaf 2 pints of cold water 8 peppercorns 2 tablespoons, each, of carrot and celery ½ small onion with 4 cloves A branch of parsley A slice of green or red pepper Instructions Two pounds of beef from the hind shank is a good selection. There should not be more than half a pound of bone. Wipe the meat and cut it into small pieces. If there is marrow in the bone, remove it and let it melt in a hot frying pan: into this or other fat, put about one-fourth of the meat and let cook, turning occasionally until well browned. Put this meat with the rest of the meat and the bone into a saucepan. Add part of the water. Pour the rest of the water into the frying pan, and let stand on the range until the browned juices are dissolved from the pan, then turn over the meat. Cover and let slowly heat to the boiling point; then let simmer three or four hours; add the vegetables and seasonings and let simmer another hour. Then strain and finish as other broth. When finished measure and if needed add water to make one quart of broth. Carol F. SCd 6 years, celiac

Guest guest
Carol, Thanks so much! When I got online and looked up minced meat, I got an interesting recipe but it surely was not SCD legal. Wow, I am going to have to check into this juicer. I have not ever heard of it. That would be very beneficial to have on this diet. Thanks for the info. Dana carolfrilegh wrote: Carol, > > At one time you suggested putting meat in muffins to hide it for my picky two year olds. I make fantastic fruit sorbet and don't even have to add honey. just freeze washe fruit cut in pieces on a cookies sheet and feed into the juicer.. I also do a few raw vegeatble and fruit juice combos but prefer to eat the whole fruit when not combining with vegetables. You can make your own ground meat from scratch or make store bought even finer texture. Perhaps you should read reviews by others before investing as the machine is expensive. Marilyn Alm also has one. Carol F. SCD 6 years, celiac.
